Now we are not sure about this rumour. It is all conjecture at this point, but worth a debate or ten, so here goes.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is in the midst of deciding on his back line for the next England World Cup Qualifier on Saturday.

John Terry has had a fantastic season so far. He has been at the heart of Chelsea's amazing back line, risking life and limb to defend the box. He defends intelligently and cleanly, and knows how to keep his temper and marker under control. He is strong on set plays and commands respect on the pitch from all and sundry.

Jamie Carragher had rings run around him by Chelsea attack in both Anfield matches this past week. The defender couldn't seem to control Drogba and was playing catch-up all across the back line.

Sol Campbell is back from injury, just. He is rumoured to be back on form, although that has yet to be fully demonstrated.

Rio Ferdinand has made some crucial errors in his last few matches, one of them resulting in a goal. The defender also makes some dubious tackles, putting alot at risk for his side.

Seems like the decision has already partly been made for the England manager.

Yet Eriksson has been quoted recently in the media as saying that Campbell is most certainly going to be back in the squad now that he is back from injury.

Sven has even gone so far as to defend Ferdinand in the media saying that he has been watching the defender throughout the season thus far and he has proven himself as a strong reliable defender despite having a bad run recently.

For many, that makes up our minds. It is becoming painfully obvious that Terry will be left out of the first eleven in favour of Ferdinand-the-favourite, and Campbell-the-invalid. Such behaviour would simply emulate the decisions made for the England midfield and as such are no real surprise.

Still others are hopeful that a surprise will be waiting around the corner, and in that starting line we will see the man who truly deserves to run the back line, Terry, march onto the pitch for his country.
Our Verdict: Don 't hold your breath Blues
