FA Cup Challenge Continues - Starting XI
Created on 6th Jan (Updated 12:30am - Saturday, 6th January, 2007 MST)
Newsnow
Mourinho has been scratching his head over who will start for the Blues against Macclesfield, in FA Cup action on Saturday. The keeper situation has gone from bad to worse as news of Hedman receiving an injury spread. And with our front line lacking in purpose of late, the team has really been stretched.

Rumours have it that there will be 4 players from the reserves coming up to lend strength to an injury laden group. Namely goalkeeper Kalambay, attacking forward Scott Sinclair, striker Ben Sahar, and midfielder Michael Woods - but will any of them start? Here is our prediction.

Hilario
Geremi- Ferreira - Carvalho - A.Cole
Makelele
Essien - Lampard
Kalou - Shevchenko
Drogba

Bench: Kalambay, Bridge, Woods, Sinclair, Sahar

What other options could there possibly be?

The match would be hard even if we had all of our first team players fit to play -- it will be harder still with the players we have available. However, many a fan sing about the skill of Sinclair and the power of Sahar - we have to have faith that our boys will come through once again.

The bench is made up mainly of attacking players, so one is tempted to think that Mourinho will play for a big high scoring win rather than sit on a 1 goal lead; history says otherwise.
Our Verdict: Give the new kids a chance!
