The most ridiculous thing to come out of the media so far this week, does not surround Mourinho's future at Chelsea. Instead, apparently tired of all the Chelsea-chat, Man United appears to have started their own rumour - that they are the subject of a top secret tactical mission by an unknown London club.
SkySports reported on Thursday that Carrington training ground had been invaded by a "Spy Plane" which flew over the ground whilst Man United were performing tactical training. The rest of the information went that the plane proceeded to fly south, and arrived in the London area approximately 4 hours after it was spotted in Manchester, and a strange briefcase appeared to change hands.
Further to this, rumour has it that Russian Space Satellites were tracked orbiting the earth, passing Carrington at the exact moment that Man United were embarking on a set-piece practice.
Man United even went so far as to have Sir Bobby Robson make statements alluding to some kind of internal source, who would have informed the Spy Plane as to the exact date and time of the club's tactical training, in an attempt to legitimise the claims.
Now, either Man United are desperate to get some attention back onto them, clearly frustrated with the lack of attention they have been receiving lately, or there really was a Spy Plane sent up to Manchester to spy and deliver the results by top secret clandestine briefcase to an unknown man wearing dark glasses in the M4 area.
