Ronaldinho Rumour is "Goofy"
Created on 28th Aug (Updated 2:40pm - Tuesday, 28th August, 2007 MDT)
Newsnow
Recent rumours have surfaced regarding the arrival of one Ronaldinho to Stamford Bridge; Abramovich was supposed to be in talks to sign the player from Barcelona, with a signing fee that was sure to be exorbitant.

The rumour seems to have originated from a leading UK News source, and was fueled by the usual conversation surrounding Abramovich's millions and how they have propelled Chelsea into the top of the league.

Many dismissed the rumours as ridiculous - an attempt to disuade The Blues early in the season, and discredit a fabulous team, with the sole purpose of disrupting a solidity that thus far has carried us through match after match - the same thing that seems to be lacking in Man U.

The logical connection that was made by some in the media world, was that the signing would do more harm than good --if we were to sign Ronaldinho, where would that leave other key players in the club who have contributed so much already? The signing would surely cause one of those rifts between player and club that are irrepairable, and the cohesiveness that propels Chelsea forward with every match would be threatened. In reality, this sort of repurcussion is a possibility, although doubtful.

So solid was this rumour, that it lasted less than 24 hours - this morning the story was declared false by Barcelona. Granted we have yet to comment on it directly, but some things just aren't worth the air.

This is, quite simply, a sign of the beginning of what is sure to be an outrageous News Season - if Man U continue to falter and flail on the pitch while Chelsea succeed, there is no doubt that we will be seeing more of the same. Every angle will be criticised, every goal analysed and every questionable decision against Chelsea upheld vehemently -- it's tough at the top!
