Man U Away - Starting XI

As Chelsea prepare to face Man U away at Old Trafford, many uncertainties hang. This will be the first match under Caretaker Avram Grant - how will the players react? What will the formation look like? Who will start?

Chelsea Captain John Terry will, over the coming weeks, play an influencial role in how the players react to the new Manager. Obviously the goal will be to remain focussed on what is happening on the pitch rather than off; with this tricky fixture, made even more so with a lack of Lampard and Drogba, all eyes must remain set firmly on the target of taking points away at this match. What is needed is vigilance and a solidarity to carry the boys through the 90 minutes - perhaps with a purpose of dedicating a win to a certain absent figure?

The formation will be interesting. The likelihood of Grant messing with a good thing and changing the position of key players is very far fetched. At this point he is likely to leave well enough alone and simply keep the players fixed on the task at hand. So formation-wise, we should expect nothing out of the ordinary.

If Shevchenko starts, as many feel he will, the formation will be built around him - as a lone striker he is not always successful, so a 4-4-2 set up is predicted. Who else will play?

Here is our predicted Starting XI:

Cech
Belletti - Alex - Terry - A. Cole
Makelele
SWP - Essien - Malouda
Shevchenko - Kalou

Bench: Cudiccini, Ferreira, Ben-Haim, J. Cole, Sidwell
Our Verdict: A win, dedicated to a certain someone
