Saturday's Euro 2008 opening match between Portugal and Turkey was being watched by many -- including Roman Abramovich. It is rumoured that the Russian billionaire showed a keen interest in the game because it meant that he could watch both Chelsea's new signing and Chelsea's new manager.

Chelsea's new signing didn't dissapoint. Right-back Jose Bosingwa who was chosen to start over Miguel, played a fantastic match showing a strong physical presence alongside fellow Blue's defenders Ricky Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira. Abramovich was pleased with his performance.

But his performance wasn't the only one receiving praise from Abramovich last night. Portugal's National manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has openly refused to talk about any moves away from his current duty as the country's national club manager. However, Abramovich's presence at the match yesterday is a clear indication to some that "Big Phil" is heading to the Bridge.

Food for thought -- someone had to sign Bosignwa. Ideally someone who was familiar with what he can do, where his talents lie (he can play as both right-back and a midfielder) etc. Bosingwa has been a player on the International level under Scolari for about a year and has demonstrated so much talent that he has overtaken Miguel as a starting player in the position. Combine this with the fact that Scolari has not openly refuted the rumours surrounding a move to Chelsea, and that Abramovich was very interested in the match today and things get very convincing indeed.
Our Verdict: a Big move for Big Phil is coming
